February 28, 2025 at the age of 72 years, passed away after a courageous battle surrounded by her loving family. Cherished wife of the late Michael Skreptak (2021). Devoted mom of Jason (Cathy), Daryl and Kathleen (Korry, 2019) Much loved Grammy to Lillian, Curtis, Mason, Christopher, Logan, Grace (2008), Cody, Alyssa and great Grammy of Nova-Lynn. Sister of Rick (Cathy) and the late Jim (2024) (Hazel), sister-in-law to Ron. Survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Predeceased by her parents Elmer and Mildred Bauer. Wendy's ability to lead and organize led to her work as an office administrator for Eastwood Public School, Anderson Funeral home and later Families First Funeral Home. Wendy was a foundational member at Families First beginning her career there in (2000). She helped launch support to families after the funeral, providing support and vast knowledge to thousands of families and estates in her tenure. Wendy was kind and compassionate and will be remembered fondly by her peers as a woman who would not settle for anything less than your best! Wendy has a vast group of friends, The BMLWS (Bonnie, Marg, Lynn, Wendy, Shelley) were long-time close circle of friends whom she adored, travelled with, confided in and shared many meals with and these women were a cherished part of life. Wendy also had many close family friends including, Sherry and Joe Novosad, Ralph and Ann Mueller, Pete Harris, Mary Fournier, Lois Johnson and countless other friends over the years who all played an important role in Wendy’s life. Wendy was devoted and dedicated to her faith and her church communities at Lakeshore St. Andrews and Banwell Community Church. She served and led many groups including, an annual Women’s Retreat, Alpha, Ushering, and later became the head Usher, and an Elder. Beta Sigma Phi was an important part of Wendy’s life, and she served as a President, Secretary and wore many hats throughout her many years active with the group including Delta Epsilon Master Chapter. Wendy was creative to her core, hobbies included knitting, crocheting, sewing, and painting she taught anyone she could and wanted to pass on her expertise and love of crafting. Donations to Lakeshore St. Andrew’s Church would be appreciated by the family. On Thursday, Visitation from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:30pm. On Friday, family and friends are welcome after 10:00am for a Celebration of Wendy’s life at 11:00am. It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our loving husband and father, Michelangelo “Mike” on February 27th, 2025 with his loving wife and family by his side at the age of 85. He will be profoundly missed by his wife Biagia “Bianca” and his sons Marcello (Angie), Tony (Jen) and Lou (Tina). Mike’s greatest sources of joy and pride were his grandchildren Michael, Madison, Gabriella, Daniella, Emma, and Gioia. He is predeceased by his brothers John, Tony and Vince and his sister Teresa. He is survived by his sister Delia in Italy. He will be missed by his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews. He was born in Ceccano, Frosinone, Italy on August 24, 1939. He immigrated to Canada in 1956 and settled in Windsor where he met the love of his life Bianca. They were married for over 58 years and spent many happy years raising their boys and chasing them to sporting events when they were growing up and then welcoming new grandchildren into their lives with boundless joy. Mike was the epitome of a hard worker and spent over 40 years working with his brother John at Pizzuti Drainage and then later at Coco Paving where he proudly operated heavy equipment until his retirement. His home away from home was the members bar at the Fogolar Furlan where he stopped, without fail, for an afternoon beer on his way home from work. He made many friends that lasted well into his retirement. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ronald McDonald house of Windsor would be greatly appreciated. Rest In Peace Papa. Visitation will take place on Monday, March 3, 2025 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help (804 Grand Marais Rd. E) from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral mass at 11:00 am. Peacefully on February 27, 2025, while surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 82. Dearest sister of Renato and wife Mila (predeceased by Fely), Eddie and wife Elma, Cora, Servando Jr., Norly and wife Molly, Annalie Jarencio and husband Medy, and Annabelle Lopez and husband Teddy. Predeceased by her brother Danilo (2017), and her parents Servando Sr. and Eufrocina Villas. Helita will be forever remembered in the hearts of her many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Helita was a School Teacher in the Philippines and a hairdresser. Helita retired from Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare after many years of service. She loved to travel and enjoyed vacations with her family and friends. Her faith and going to church were very important to her. Her devotion and love for her family will be forever in their hearts. If you so desire, donations to Hospice Residential- Windsor would be appreciated by the family. Visitation Friday, March 7, 2025 from 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. with Parish Prayers at 4:00 p.m. On Saturday, March 8, 2025, friends are invited to join the family after 1:00 p.m. until time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 p.m. at Assumption Church, 2735 University Ave. West. Passed away peacefully, with his loving partner Pille by his side, on February 26, 2025 at 72 years of age. Dear stepfather of Mari (Toronto). Predeceased by his parents Antonio and Filomena Durante. Dear brother of Saverio Durante (Rosemary), the late Maria (2001), Giuseppe (Iola), the late John (Linda), Rose Durante and Anna Durante. Dear Zio to Mena, Cathy, Tony, Adriano, and Elisa Durante. Dearly loved by many aunts, uncles, and cousins in Canada and Italy. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Mario loved life, nature, walks in Point Pelee and Niagara Falls, his enjoyment of music and good old movies. His zest for life and sense of humor will always be remembered. A special thank you to the staff at Leamington Hospital for all of their care and compassion as well as the nurses, physio and massage therapists that visited Mario at his home. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bren Eric Gunn at the age of 82 years. Son of Orville (1983) and Ruth (1983) Gunn. Loving Husband of Bogda (nee. Szostopal) for 50 wonderful years. Cherished father of Lora (Darren) Ion, Victoria (Mark) Faucher, and John (Mila) Gunn. Beloved Gramps to Finley, Delaney, Elizabeth, Adrienne, Charlotte, and Olivia. Brother and best friend to Richard (Sharon) Gunn. Brother-in-law to Urszula Filipovic (2024), and Tom (Susan) Szostopal. Bren will be forever remembered by his nieces, nephews and friends. Bren has dedicated many years to The Windsor Regiment, who he called his second family. He started as a 16 year old cadet and later joined The Windsor Regiment and advanced to Regimental Sargent Major and later to Major. Bren retired after 35 years of service with The Windsor Police Department, retiring as a Staff Inspector in 1998. He enjoyed his 27 years of retirement, spending time at the lake house and with his family. Bren embodied the values of love, dedication and honour, and he had a zest for life that kept him “Forever Young”. He was one of the founders of the Windsor Police Pipe Band where he was leading as a Drum Major. Special thank you to Ryan Burchiel for honouring Bren, by playing the bagpipes during his stay at Erie Shore’s Hospice. It created a moment we will forever remember. Also special thank you to St. Elizabeth Home Care Services (John, Erin, Laura, Heather) and Paramed PSW Karrie. Our sincerest appreciation goes to the staff and volunteers at the Erie Shores Hospice for their compassion and care. In Bren’s memory, donations may be made to Erie Shores Hospice or Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation.
